taking a moment.

After a grueling day (err… week… err…month… or two…) I’m feeling like I’m finally sitting down now to reflect on some of the things that have happened in the past little while.

It seems like for some time now, everything has been “Go! Go! Go!” with little downtime to relax. It’s already summer if you can believe that (well, technically the first day of summer is Saturday), but the warm weather has begun, as have the warm summer nights.

I guess if there’s a particular season that I’m fond of, it would have to be summer. Which is funny, because I really don’t like the heat. But the warm air at night just does something for me. I don’t know if it’s anything in particular from my childhood that makes me love it, or if it’s just conditioning from school always being out, but I love it.

There’s something truly wonderful about those heavy in-and-out naps during the late afternoon of a summer Sunday. The kind of naps that leave your chest feeling heavy. Laying there, above the covers, with all the windows open. Naked and coated with sticky sex sweat, feeling the gentle breeze slowly churn across your belly, and your loved one nestled in your arms.

These are the moments that I need to appreciate more in my life—taking the time to soak in them as much as I can.
