no sleep reverb

Insomniac barclay woke up at 3:30am today, and couldn’t get back to sleep.

I hate this more than anything.

So after struggling for an hour to get back to sleep, I resigned my efforts, and decided to go out and watch some TV. If nothing else, I assumed to RonCo Rotisserie Oven(TM) (“just set it, and Forget it!”) would help put me back down.

After flipping through the channels aimlessly for a few minutes looking for something (anything) interesting, I landed on what appeared to be ms. bjork singing in a church.

Turns out, it was HBO’s live music show, Reverb. Realizing that it was 4:00am in the morning, I figured the volume level might be an issue, so I ran into the office and grabbed the headphones. Amazingly enough, that long-ass cord that I constantly complain about and trip over, is just long enough to stretch from the receiver to a reclined position on the couch, with ample slack. The volume went up.

This show was awesome. Her performance, while definitely off-beat, was amazing. Ever since I watched the tragedy of a movie that Dancer in the Dark (shudder) was, I kinda stopped liking bjork. But this… this was something.

So she had her 30 minute set. And it was great. And then they switched artists. Who happens to be next up? Sigur Ros. Awesome.

So at 4:00 am this morning, while you were probably sleeping, I was sitting in the dark living room rocking out on the couch, trying my best not to sing along and wake the neighbors.
