my PC has developed NAFS (Noisy-Ass Fan Syndrome).
This has been bothering me to no end, as firing her up is like having a helicopter take off. But was one of those things that I never had time to look into fixing.
So yesterday, I decided it was time to take the 5 minutes, and try to fix it. Now, mind you my plan was to silicone all the plastic pieces of the fan housing to the case, in hopes of losing some of the rattling… but instead, decided the typical barclay way of fixing it was probably better; and just removed both of the fans from the case.
The funny thing, is that sans-case fans, my motherboard and CPU are running at the same temperature they were before.
And oh, the quiet is so much nicer.
