This was a fun one.
I’ve been a huge fan of Danz (aka Danz CM, aka Computer Magic) for years now. Talk about someone that’s just full to the brim with creativity, from her self-produced music, to the synth history pod cast (and zine), to some of the film production work…
She’s kind of amazing. So I went to see her opening for Ela Minus, knowing nothing about the headliner, but figuring if it sucks, I’d still be happy seeing Danz.
She did great… but since I typically skip a lot of openers (yes, i know i shouldn’t), I was nervous seeing that there were only a couple dozen people in the crowd. Oh no.
But it filled out as she went on.
And then Ela Minus started. Holy shit. I was unprepared. It was such a cool fucking performance. More than half of it, she was working on the synths, with her back to the crowd, but there’s a camera capturing her face, and projecting it, giving you the illusion that she’s looking out at the floor.
Was really, such a cool, and I got sweaty by the end. Loved it.
